The Syracuse University Art Museum is free and open to the public. We welcome faculty, students, PreK-12 educators, and community groups to explore the galleries and collections.
The museum setting promotes active learning and interdisciplinary thinking, challenging people to develop evidence-based interpretations and to make connections across cultures and time.
Museum staff can help identify ways to best support the goals of your class or group visit. This may include tours of special exhibitions, identifying relevant works of art for discussion, facilitating gallery conversations, or developing object study sessions.
Please be sure to request visits in accordance with the following deadlines:
-
- Requests for self guided visits to the galleries should be submitted at least one (1) week in advance.
- Requests for guided visits to the galleries should be submitted at least two (2) weeks in advance.
- Requests for self guided or guided visits to the Study Room with artwork pulled from storage should be submitted at least four (4) weeks in advance. We can pull up to 10 objects from storage for Study Room visits. Available to Syracuse University and SUNY-ESF instructors only.
