Women’s History Month Pop Up Exhibition: Imagining Joan of Arc

March 25, 12:00 pm4:00 pm

Free
Visit the Syracuse University Art Museum and the Syracuse University Libraries’ Special Collections Research Center (SCRC) for special pop-up exhibitions celebrating Women’s History Month!
Discover art and archival materials created by writers and artists in Europe and North America from the 18th century to today that reimagine Joan of Arc. The pious peasant Joan of Arc (circa 1412—1431) led the French army to victory during the Hundred Years’ War and was executed for heresy in 1431. Canonized as a saint in 1920, over the centuries Joan has evolved into a powerful symbol of women’s courage.
The SCRC pop-up exhibition will take place in Lemke, on the sixth floor of Bird Library, from noon – 2:00 p.m. The SU Art Museum pop-up exhibition will take place in the museum’s Study Room from 2:00-4:00 p.m.
