All Art is Ecological

February 22, 4:00 pm8:00 pm

Free

Join the museum for a night filled with highlighting art and ecology.

The night will begin at 4:30 p.m. with the launch of The Art and Ecology Project teaching guides that offer additional tools for teaching ecology and climate through art, as well as instructional techniques for approaching art in the classroom – or on your own – through the lenses of ecology and climate.

After the launch, join museum staff, artists, and organizers of the exhibition for a gallery reception celebrating SU Art Museum’s spring exhibition, Assembly from 5- 6:30 p.m. Following the reception, philosopher Timothy Morton explores the strangeness of living in an age of mass extinction and shows how the experience of art provides a model for ecological ethics. Assembly runs through May 12 at the Syracuse University Art Museum.
