The Museum as a Classroom: Mickalene Thomas

Join African American Studies professor Danielle T. Smith, curator Melissa Yuen, and current students for a conversation around artist Mickalene Thomas’ Portrait of Qusuquzah #5 (2011), on loan to the Art Museum from the Art Bridges Foundation. Experience interdisciplinary teaching and learning outside of a traditional classroom, and explore themes of race, gender, identity, beauty and power.
This program is a part of Orange Central 2022, but is free and open to all who would like to attend.
